Georgia investor buys Arlington office building

A Georgia investor has added to its string of Dallas-area office purchases -- this time with a building in Arlington.

Wells Real Estate said Wednesday that it purchased the three-story Aetna regional headquarters building at 4300 Centreway Place in near Interstate 20.

The building was acquired by the Wells Real Estate Investment Trust II Inc. and contains 139,445 square feet. Wells bought the building -- which was built in 1998 -- from Principal Real Estate Investors. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gary Carr and Russell Ingrum with CB Richard Ellis negotiated the sale.

"We think this is an excellent investment opportunity for our investors," Jeff Gilder, Wells' managing director of acquisitions, said in a statement.

"We like the Dallas-Fort Worth region, and the Mid-Cities submarket is one of the healthiest office locations in the area."

Earlier this month, Wells purchased the two-building Las Colinas Corporate Center in Irving.

Since the company was founded in 1984, Wells has invested in $7.5 billion in assets totaling more than 35 million square feet of space.
